Well it took 20 months to get them and we needed all that time to paint, install book shelves, buy furniture, etc. but we think it was worth it!
Its true, they are a part of our lives and we remember each moment when we look at them in our home.
Hope you enjoy too.
Gary

Very nice! I like the way you have them nicely spaced throughout.

We had planned to flank the best impala with 2 springbok but when we got him up, he just looked too regal to have to share the space. Glad you liked him!

Gary: Without reservation, that is one of the most tastefully done trophy rooms I have EVER seen. The animals are nice of course, but the paint scheme and furniture you selected is truly first class. Superb! jorge

The paint was from Lowes Hardware. The darker color is called Western Brown 2009-9. The lighter is Toupe 6. Thank you all for the comments on this. My wife and her daughter worked hard to put it together and I just did the painting. The truth is we wouldn't even have taken the trip if it weren't for my wife insisting we do it. ....not getting any younger, etc...What a gal.

The lighting is icing on the cake. It's just spot on. Excellent choice of colors. It creates exactly the right ambience for the trophies.

Really Nice!!!!!! animals and good ;looking displays.

I especially like the entryway layoutt, tho does that big front window give you cause for concern with (direct) sunlight coming in on any of your mounts hanging there?

Very nice Gary! Congrats on the trophies and your home. Did you post a hunt report long ago? If so, post the link. What was your experience with the Taxidermy? Good hunting, David

I've written a fairly extensive account of our trip and experiences that runs about 100 and some pages, but for the AR Forum you'll find a much abreviated version (looks like the photo links are broken) at:

https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/...=420107214#420107214

The taxidermy was done by Highveld in Joburg. 20 months seemed like a long time to me, but I don't have any experience to judge. All work is good except for some staples I can feel in one of the smaller impalas.

Most sadly, some of you are aware, our PH Nick Kilbride, son-in-law to Angus Brown was recently killed in a helicopter crash while doing some sort of game management work. He was one of the finest young men I've ever met and his loss to all who knew him is sorely felt and for those who loved him it must be nearly unbearable. I see these animals every day and think of his infectious smile and thank God for him and all he taught me. I hope he likes the display.
Gary

There is a good bit of overhang outside over the front door that seems to provide enough shade to protect from full sun, but they are still viewable from the front lawn, especially at night. We'll keep our fingers crossed for no damage.

Very tasteful and classy. The most amazing part is that the hunt and taxidermy were your wife's idea?

Very nice. Add me to those who realy like the colors.

We've got an entry way simlar to your's and liek the scheme. I'm worried about sun fading of any mounts hung there, though. Are you concerned about that and if not why?
