After Mrs. Safari Lawyer received a BIG addition to her laundry room / pantry / hobby room, we had some under utilized space that I decided would make a nice study for me. 99% of my trophies are in my offices, so I wanted an at-home man room with African flavor, but not another full blown trophy room. So after a top to bottom renovation, I've hung my art, put up a large television, and brought out some curios and euro mounts. It's a good place for TV watching, writing, reading, and AR posting. So, here it is (FYI: the flash really washed out the wall color. It looks much better in person.):

Looking in from the hall:

Large display case for skulls, curios, bowls, baskets, etc.

Top of display case, close up:

Where most of my AR posts originate from. Fabric on cornice is from Cameroon.

Grandfather's writing desk, my leopard from 2009 placed on top:

Kobus Muller prints and euro mounts from 1997

Hunting books, pictures, curios, etc

2009 Bushbuck on walnut base

Thanks for looking!

Really nice room Will. I really like the euro/table top mount and must confess I'm going to copy that idea.

FWIW, I won't be mentioning to Jessica that your better half got a new laundry room. Jessica has been on me to remodel the back of our house and build her a proper laundry room (cool house but built in second world war era, when even decent size homes had NO space to the laundry room) Peer pressure won't help my cause.

Congrats again on a great room.

Nice!

I like the table mount on the bushbuck-

Very tastefully done which leads me to believe it was Mrs. S-L's handiwork?

It was a joint effort, but like most of my projects that turn out pretty good, she was actively involved.

Will,

Your study is fantastic.

Roughly what size is it? I have a room that I have been thinking about remodeling, but I keep thinking it's too small.

Will,

What a FANTASTIC study! You, sir, have good taste! My dream is to someday have a study similar to yours, with completely African decor and a somewhat vintage look to it. I especially like the French doors, Euro mounts, and the zebra rug on top of the woven rug. Great choice of wall color, too, and great artwork - Kobus Moller is one of the best. Your photos have given me some great ideas, and I hope you don't mind me refering to them when I design my own study.

Sam: I bought two CRF Model 70s in 416 and 338 this past week. Going to "slick up" the factory rifles and get them cycling and shooting to my needs rather than paying the real big bucks for a true custom.
