A while ago I asked some advice on how to get get my cast bullets accurate . I started at the beginnig of the year with casting . I could only find Lee moulds in SA and after months of trying everything decided I will never be shooting cast bullets again - they were just not accurate in my Ruger #1. ( I tried both the 340 & the 500GC and best groups was about 3" but normally bigger)

Two months ago a friend brought me a Lyman 457671 from the UK .
I decided to give it a go - My first group at 100 meters measured 0.5".( that at 1750 fps )

Thanks for all the advice - I learned a lot in the process .

Cannot see how I will ever shoot jacketed bullets in the 45/70 any more .

Ben

You know what, you're pretty lucky. Most guys go through dozens of bullets and a couple of different powder/powder charge combinations before they would get .5" groups. Sometimes you had to .003" larger in diameter and use a different mix. Like I said, your're [Cool] [Roll Eyes] pretty lucky.
