Got to shoot some of those bullets in my NEF 45-70 this evening. They shot good, better than I can with iron sights, made 2, 2"groups of 5 shots at 75 yards. Not bad for a thrown together load of 13.6 grains of Unique (RCBS Lil Dandy rotor #24). Gave an average of 1114 fps with an extreme spread of 16 ![]() I am going to have to put a scope on it though, too many years of welding, and reaching that ripe time of life where my eyes are just plain 'ol tired. I don't even think about good quality irons anymore, just how much it is goint to cost to put optics on this thing that I can use and not look ridiculous for having more scope than gun. Geez, and all I want to do is just enjoy my evenings plinking with my cast bullets.

I recently bought a .457-325-F mould from Lee's Surplus Page. I'm sure it's a similar bullet. Mine cast to 333 grains in wheelweight metal. Haven't gotten around to shooting any yet.
