I was going over an old American Rifleman mag I bought with some old Handloader mags off of ebay. It is dated Jan, 1949. A short 2 page "How to Reload" story had the formula in it. 1/3 Beeswax, 1/3 paraphin and 1/3 cup grease. I have been collecting formulas and every time this one is quoted it is always with "What ever Cup Grease is" Well this author stated it as Penzoil #305 with graphite added! Now to see if it is still in production. John O'Connell

"Cup grease" was just grease that you put in grease cups to lubricate bearings. In other words, plain old general purpose chassis grease from the car parts store nowadays. Although messy to apply and handle, it works pretty well as a bullet lube as is.
