My smelting pot cracked!

Big ol' iron pot I've been using for years. Decided to smelt some cable sheathing today and the damn thing cracked across the bottom. Had 80-90 pounds of melted sheathing in it at the time. The Coleman is a mess.

At least it wasn't a catastrophic failure. I hate taking my shoes off with a cold chisel.

Be careful out there boys!

cheap 100plus lb capacity is a 50 cal ammo can....works well nice flat bottom, and can pour out of when down to the bottom...

I'll keep that ammo can trick in mind for next time. I got back in business with a 2.5 quart Revere stainless steel pot on Sunday.
