Thats very cool, Cody! I think you should put it on the floor, personally.

i have a few boar rugs and aftera while the floorones get turned up on the edges maybe if the dog did not roll and play with it it would be better but the wall is a good bet at a slight angle

Cody, thats an ultracool rug. Believe I'm like the others, I'd hang it on the wall.

Cody,

Excellent - your new Trophy looks, well, Uh,.....COOL!

I've had many done as well, whoever did this one for you had a good inkling of what it takes IMO. The Pro's & Cons:

On the Wall.
Heavy and getting them to lay "Right", (read: flat) could be an issue. Best way I've found is to use a Tacker to put it where you want it and leave it there. The Wall Mount can actually afford to have the hooves & legs left on the hide but they won't lay flat of course and the extended legs (which you don't have) take up additional wall space (depends on how much space you've got to show it off!). Have a Piglett skin complete with Stipres & Spots (about the size of a placemat) that I use to stick the countless hundreds of European shooting Pins & Needles in but the hide is thick and the Taxadermist didn't quite get all the fat outa the hide so it needs some attention occaisionally.

On the Floor.
Yours would be good since it doesn't have the legs & hooves; which are normally the first to go if it is placed in a spot with "Foot Traffic" or spot that gets a good stomping or walking over. Then the Ears & Snout get tripped & stumbled over also. The Pigskin tislef is extrodinarily durable leather and will take a good licking but occaisionally you loose a bristle or two.

I had the great fortune to be good friends with the Director of the Berlin Forestry and he had about the classiest collection of Boar Hides I've ever seen in my life. @ 20 of the largest, blackest hides I've ever seen - the floor in his living room was an entire Trophy Room itself!

Cheers,
