My dedicated pig/deer gun at ranges to 200yds is my 308. I use 150gn Power Points @2750. I limit the range because their BC is about that of a grape. My first suggestion is to get closer, but sometimes that's easier said than done. I have considered loading some 169 Interlocks, to extend the range, but wonder if they may be a little tough for deer. capt david

A 308 with a good constructed bullet like a Barnes X, nosler Partition, speer grand slam, or any premium bullet will kill any hog at 200 or 300 yards provided you do your part. The first hog I killed was with a 300 win mag and a 200 sierra match bullet, supposedly not a game bullet, the hog never took a step.
