I've been loading my Mauser .458WM with 69.9 gr 4895 under a Rem 405JSP as a "plinking" round just for fun. I had almost sold the rifle after my cape buffalo hunt but just couldn't bring myself to do it...just love those big bores! I think I'll take it out for hogs next time I have a Saturday off.
Does anyone else down load a .458WM for hogs, elk or moose?

I bought a Ruger Tropical #1 in 458 WM years ago which I restocked left handed. I enjoy shooting it. Federal used to make a 458 WM in 350 grains it's perfect pig medicine and shoots like a dream. I don't handload so this factory load was perfect. I've killed a few different animals with it, it's a lot of fun.

I've used my .458 Lott on hogs and have used Hawk 500 grain grenades. .45s of every ilk are very good hog medicine!
