I went up to the lease this afternoon -- saw 4 wheeler tracks going to my stand, which is likely some noob exploring the lease, but i'll put out a note ...

anyway, i was hearing what turned out to be a 3 boar bachelor herd -- came out under the feeder, and when i reached up to adjust the focus...

THE FRIGGIN SCOPE MOVED....

the base screws had worked out a bit....

just sharing that it could happen to anyone

anyway, i didn't take the shot, and opened a topo chico and just there, thinking out it.

sigh..

piggies 3, jeffe 0

Jeffe!

Good to see you posting!

I can totally relate.

As much as I hunt, I continuously do things that are either stupid or wrong and know better.
I think that's the human condition.

Just this weekend I missed an opportunity on both a fine boar, (which I later snared) and gaggle of turkey, due to being ill-prepared.

But at least I got put a stalk on both, and that to me is 3/4's of the fun.

Best,

GWB

Well, did you find where the tracks ended up?

Guns are mechanical objects too. Screws come loose even on them. That's what Loctite was made for.

Better luck next time,
George

he decided he didn't want to do the lease mgr/president role no more. COOL. Then forfeited the lease back BEFORE asking if we wanted to continue.

and he's been such a PITA to the landowner that they accepted and reassigned...

some guys have been on this lease for 30+years

Sorry to hear that. Hear and see too much of that kind of stuff going on with leased properties. Hope you can find something else.

To be honest, I actually thought you were pulling an April Fool's prank considering when you made the post.

That must have been one heck of lease to have that many people and for that long.

Have you gone to talk it over with the owner?
Offering to take over and run it as it should be done.

Good luck etc,
George

he gave it back, the MUCH later told the membership - after the next group on the list signed the contract -- he KNEW he was screwing us, and all over a SNIT that wouldn't have been an issue if he had communicated more than once a year

i am on another lease now -- what PITA to get moved over

I feel your pain. Had several good leases over the years and some rough ones as well. Finding and moving to a new lease is a pita.
