My fellow Texans (doing my best LBJ impersonation) how much rain have ya'll gotten in the last week or so? We've had a good cool front move through and bring some relief here.

The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Don't know how much rain we got at the ranch, but the landowner said the hail broke the windows out of the west end of his house. The wind also blew away the rain gauge so that's why we don't know how much, but all of it is appreciated. I'm heading to the ranch tomorrow and hopefully I won't find any blinds on the ground like I did the week before deer season opened last fall--2 prime blinds laying in the cactus, and, a 150 gallon propane tank blown over. Some winds.

Had .3" in the gauge when I got to the ranch on Thursday after the Sunday rain.

Our lease in Mason has been EXTREMELY dry! In the last 6 months, we've gotten 7/10 of an inch. This past Sunday we got 1.5" and it sucked it right up. We are headed back out there this weekend. Our lease is 2,000 acres on the Llano River and it is INFESTED with deer. There are approximately 700-800 deer on the property and this dry spell had us worried, but things are looking better. Last weekend you would see no less than 50 deer at the feeder in front of the camp every morning. Usually see 100-150 per day when you are driving around on the place quite a bit! We also have quite a few free ranging Blackbuck and have seen a large herd of 30-40 Axis accross the river. Lots of pigs too.

About an inch between Cuero & Gonzales. Needed it badly, wasn't enough, praying for more soon.

spent the weekend at the rex kelly ranch located north of Vanderpool off sh187. It drizzled during the day Sunday. Sunday night it rained about 1.1 inches the first go round then came back through later and rained another .7 inches. for a total of 1.8 inches according to the ranch owner's rain gauge.

In the Pearsall area we got .5 two weeks ago and .5 Sunday evening. Its not enough to do much about deep moisture or refill tanks but it will sure help the horns out. The pigs are out everywhere! They love the moisture and cool weather.

Ithink everyone up here in the North woods would trade you some rain for a little sunshine. We have been measuring our rainfall in feet instead of inches lately.
We had over two inches during lunch yesterday.
Makes it hard to get out and do anything.

Wendell & Frank,

Send some of that to south Texas. On the news last night they were talking about the drought again and said that this last 12 months has had the least amount of rainfall of any 12 month period in south Texas since 1895.

I am 20 miles northwest of Sherman and can look across the lake at Oklahoma. Last thusday nite we got about 4+inchs here at the house in a little over two hours along with a 45 minute hail storm with sizes only up to about a quarter. Just south of me at the Grayson County airport it was raining at about 8"s an hour for short periods as the 4 thunderstorm cells moved thru. PTL for the water but I'd really rather take mine a little slower next time with no tornado's and hail.
God bless those poor folks north of us, they need all the prayers they can get after 60 some tornados yesterday. Gonna be a long spring tornado season looks like.
