Well all I have to say is that you are a smart man, because I can barely get along with my native language, SC English! Much less have to learn something new!

You ain't fooling me you see, I knew that "in-u-endo" had to be spanish, maybe even Afrikaans! Don't be putting "johnson" "mine is bigger than yours" and "in-u-endo" all in the same sentence around me!!!!! I will leave the room!!

You are right about not hunting with you guys, and you can add Gato to that list too because he was talking about his being bigger than mine and can speak foreign words about somethings "end". No way you gonna get me around you guys!

That's "furren" to you.......and I'll have you know as a TEXAN, I don't let any man use my Johnson.......Jeffe (another Texan) was in an argument one time about "bigger than mine" and he just pulled out enough to win, not to really embarrass the guy, I think his Smith is long barreled......that reminds me, I think the guy he was arguing with was from SC too....... clap

Well Gato, it appeaaaars to me that I have come up on the "short Side" of this entirrre discussion! My Smith is only 4 inches, and yes that is average for here in SC. Since things are bigger over ya'lls way I will have to defer further comments in consideration of and respect for my brethren there in the great state of TX. In respect thereof I will allow to be "short Sided", but now don't put me on the "short end" of things!

I typically use a 30-06 for hogs, but I think I may take my 375 H&H the next time I go. Hogs are good practice!

Sevens, I think you will find the .375 to be a great hog hammer -- and especially fun with open sights! My .416 Remmie is one of my favorite hog decimators -- with open sights of course.

I thought you were talking about diameter, not length! No my man it's all in the thickness of the barrel, not the length! I was talking about barrel thickness myself!

I did this with some of my 416s and they grew into 458 Lotts and 470 Capsticks????

I had hunting wild boar by .45 blaser, 300win mag, 338 lapua Mag and 243 win. All was bolt rifle and working fine And i think i like most of that sako TRG-S 338LM. But i love use it all hunting so maybe that was reason.

But next gun what i need is Merkel 961 double rifle drilling. Caliber will be 30R blaser/30R blaser/20/76. Some nice small variable scope or red dot sight to drive hunting and bigger to hunting at night. I will not need bigger caliber for boar. Those .30cal bullets is easy and fast to shot to small cap. And i still have one extra barrel for fox or other small game. Or just use slugs and get three "bullets"...

Life is too short to hunting with ugly gun...

I've shot a lot of pigs and I still love doing it. More sausage & pork chops!
What I've found is that if you put the shot between the eyes or behind the ear, you don't need a lot of gun.

Mike Jines and I are going to shoot some hogs in a couple weeks. For that trip I think I'm going to carry my R25 with a red dot and 19 rnd. clips. I will of course, have other toys in tow.

I shot one a couple years ago with my .458 winmag (open sights). He was facing me so I put it right in his chest and it exited his butt ( A reverse Texas Heart Shot). As you might guess it was DRT. Zero meat damage but it damn near field dressed him.

As for the ".358 Win Mag" - I know of no such cartridge. .358 Norma?

I hunt pigs a lot and often use them for test purposes (bullets) so I use a lot of different rifles on them. I did put together a designated pig gun, a Remington 7400 in 30-06, topped with a 2x7 illuminated dot reticle scope. I have it presently loaded up with 165 gr. Remington Corelokts and it kills perfectly well and is very reliable. Quick follow up shots are nice and I tend to be a bit trigger happy with this gun. This rifle is not my favorite though, that honor goes to my 7x57.
