I shot this big sow that we estimated to weigh a little over 300 lbs. These hogs get big and fat by eating out of the cattle feeders at night. It took several shots to bring her down because she was running in all of them but the last one. I think I hit her all three times.

We saw alot of hogs at Camp Cooley at night. They were usually a ways off and running hard. Big hogs in big numbers though.

fla3006 - It's a great place to hunt if you don't mind hunting at night. The year round food, water and cover keeps them on this ranch at all times. But you're right, you'd better be ready to shoot quickly because they know the drill.

jeffe - I don't know which one saw the group first because they were both yelling excitedly when they spotted the hogs. Funny thing about Alen's driving...I'm sort of used to that kind of hunting but the two other guys that tagged along with me weren't and that was the big topic of discussion the next day. But I've never seen a guy drive 40 mph on ranch roads, smoke a cig, spotlight, and talk on his cell phone all at the same time. Definitely an art.

And he walks as fast as I run! (was a big topic of our conversation too)
