Gentlemen,

Please excuse me for posting this, but we only have a few of this in the forum so I thought it might be OK to add this one.

She was taken in 2009 in the MiddleVelt of RSA from a bow hunting blind at night. The feeder was dimly illuminated with a small 12 volt light powered by a car battery fitted with a solar charger.

As we were going out to the blind in the dark but early of the evening, the land owner made the comment that we must not shoot his Cape Buffalo or Rhino ... I thought he was kidding. Silly me!!!

This piggy was taken after a two hour encounter with several Wildebeast and two Cape Buffalo ... one of which preened his horns on the pine tree next to the blind. Was like being in the middle of a base drum being beaten by a Cape Buffalo. Actually surprised I was able to hit this pig later in the evening!

(She was taken with a practical build 9,3x62 on a VZ.24 action, 24" Douglas barrel, Timney trigger, and custom mounts holding a 1.8-5.5x Zeiss Conquest. Used 286 Nosler Partitions at 2425 fps.)

Needless to say this one got more than a European mount!

Mike

That's a very nice sized pig. Great calibre and bullet combo..
