How big would you say this "little guy" was in your estimate?

My guide thought around 250-275, maybe a touch more. It was hard to tell when he was laying down & then running. This is him after he took off

I really like hunting in the snow--much easier to see them well.

If 250-lbs is a small boar, then I have to hunt at Bear Mountain!

down south of san antonio, where the cactus aint bad, we play a little game called "closer" ... now, I don't know what all that white looking grass is, but it looks thick..

anyway, that little oinker would have called for a change in the ROE as at ToO, and required a creep up and pistol shoot...

you haven't lived until you are on your belly, slithering into a pig's brush pile, hoping that you have seen all of those in the pile, and then getting close enough to put powder burns from you 45LC or 10MM, and giving him a lead sleeping pill

of course, at bear mt, the cost of the trophy might keep me from doing it, but yeah, it would come to mind

Jeff, you are right that it is an expensive hunt, but a 500-lb boar!! And not just a feral, but a big 'ole wooly European hog! It would be good! But yes, the cost of one hunt at Bear Mountain would get me three hunts + in Florida........but still!! Big Grin

Husqvarna -- good thing he passed on that "small" boar as he ended up taking one that was nearly twice the size!

I know, hovewer it´s like always, match the rifle to the game, a big one demands a huge boar.

Best regards Chris

W-

Jupp som det heter på Svenska,

Well yes thank you, as the term would be in english.

For any and all who wonders what that is above, think the Swedish cook in the Muppet show and just pronounce it like it´s written.

I just love boar hunting, hoping to amass enough money to go to Croatia later this year.

Best regards Chris
