Jefffeossso is his name
makin' mead is his game
all the piggies shake with dread
cause he fills them full of lead.

as hot as it was today, if you'd left a bottle of mead in your caddy you could have drilled at least two with the cork dancing

You guys crack me up! jumping

With the heat we've been having, I figured if I shot anything, the tenderloins would be medium-well before I even got it to the house...

We talked about redlegg's night vision hunting on our hunt last weekend. Well, I'm leaving for Bryan/College Station in about five hours to hunt some Aggies.....oops, I mean to hunt some hogs and predators with helmet-mounted Gen-III ANVIS-9's (Aviator's Night Vision Imaging System. Our rifles will be topped with either Gen-III, 6x Raptor night Vision weapon sights or thermal weapon sights(TWS), aka FLIR........how cool is that?!? We will also have hand-held TWS units to help locate them. I am really looking forward to getting to play with some of these state of the art high-tech toys!!

And before anyone starts whining, this is NOT fair chase. It is animal damage control!

But Bob,
whaaaaat will the VAA (Vampires Assoc. of Amerika) say, its insensitive of you to invade their time/space reality by using night vision,to hunt at night,
and additionally, its not "fair chase"

But to this unreconstructed redneck cracker, its sounds like it ought to be a ball. Waiting for your report (written, not rifle).

You know, I am a bit worried, though. Bob is going into the heart of Aggieland, and if he comes back and redesigns his site -- not to mention those sharp-lookin' GREEN Texas Predator Posse caps -- with a healthy dose of maroon, we're going to have to have a long talk... Wink

(Just kidding, Bob! Give those hogs heck tonight...and don't forget the pictures!)

Since it's been almost 2 weeks since I last sat the feeder, thought this "poem" might describe how things are:

I feel the need
A pig to feed
A pill of lead
To make him dead! Smiler

dustoffer,
you are simply suffering the symptoms of SDD (shooting deficit disorder). Going to the range and shootings provides some relief, but gittin' out and killin' hogs is much more efficacious. Hope you get some relief soon. Be sure and post pix.

The D-man was out prowlin' the night
had one chance to get it right.
Took his shotgun in his hand
crawled up in that old tree stand
Says he's gonna bust a pig,
yeah that its, that his gig.
the piggies are lookin to get fed
ol' dustoffer's gonna feed them lead.

In a word, no.

Nah, it's not where you're from, or where you live, but what you feel, and what you value. So yes, gumboot, welcome to the Redneck brotherhood! jumping

Now we need to get you down to the Lower 48 for some hog huntin' to complete the membership process -- preferably where it's really hot and humid!

Oh, and you do drive a pickup, don't you?

Gumboot,
On being an unreconstructed redneck (southern) cracker....

I'd say yes you do need a pickem-up truck.....

Pretty pics ... in many places the hill country reminds me of Limpopo, South Africa. It would be a dead ringer if the cedar were acacia.
