The last week Me and my older Son (15) we were in the pampa looking for wildboards, the trip was succefull because we bring home a lot of meat!!!: for big "asados" (BBQ) and we enjoyed a lot a new father & Son experience.

Again, Francisco took another male (for second time!!! what a lucky guy !!!, Que ojete!!! ), not big tusk, but interesting, most if we consider that he took the wildboar walking in the night (windy night) under full moon , around a water hole, when he turned back from the truck to the blind looking for his sleeping bag (it was cold )

He used a Marlin Guide gun 45-70 Swarov. 6x42, with Rem 300grs JHP C.LK. bullet and 55 grains of Aliant nº7, the hit was at 70 yards, high in the shoulder and broke the spine. When we came back we remember that Bill Berlat was in Argentina, with J. Pozzi and took this photo in Santa Rosa City to make a joke about the argentinian mate.

Sorry no photo of my female pig, the m. f.... gaucho , took off the head and skin of my piggie early in the morning when I was sleeping , and only left the meat hanging under a tree with a hook . I hope you enjoy regards: Guillermo.

METE:Ammo: was a load with Rem. Core Lock 300 grs JHP bullet, Rem LRS primer and 55 grains of Aliant (Hercules) Reloader nº7,W-W brass, very hot!!! internet load data (Pass one shoulder trought the spine and stop just at the other shoulder bone.)

Guillermo. What a great experience. It is trips like this one that build memories that last forever. I am anxious to meet this lad of yours when I come back. And as far as the mate is concerned, the one in the photo looks grand, but it would break me to fill it; and kill me to drink it.

The Marlin 45-70 is also my favorite rifle for this type of hunting and I believe Juan Pozzi's as well. My hand load is:
Nosler 300 gr partition
54 grains H4198
Fed 210 primer
M.V. 2150 FPS
Taylor KO 42.2

With that load it has cleanly taken game from our Buffalo down to feral hogs.

You mentioned asado....one of my favorite topics.

Congratulations Guillermo,we discovered a good area with Juan with pure -until now -russian boars ill test my cz375yhy there .We test rifles every week end with Andres Gontero -fals,ar15stikka tacticals mausers,czs-Andres Gonzales,Cristian,Payo and Juan ,you must come we shot sometimes are 500 mts ,sometimes snap shots in a jungle lane .Next week i have to go to guide again .

Just got my first boar from this saison, but it'snot nearly as nice as that one. Congratulations!

I forgot my camera last weekend, but it was barely worth taking a picture. It was a driven hunt and the hounds got it before I could finish it off. Therefore, I got a boar wich litterally hadn't left anything of it's scalp!

I'll see what I can do. Perhaps I have some foto's from the previous one ...

Two years ago, I got this nice 170 pound (gutted) boar. I bought the rifle just in case I would encounter a large one - only a couple of days earlier!

9,3x62. It was on a driven hunt, he ran 15 meters and collapsed. I must admit that he got three rounds of 9.3, two of mine in the heart and one from my neighbour in the liver when he was down already.

Only one of the three RWS TIG-bullets did exit, he had an extremely though skin and fat layer ...

I used a 7-08 before, but it didn't gave me confidence a have with the 9,3 ...

The 9.3x62 is a good pig round! Many people like smaller calibers for wild boar, but I'm not one of those people! My "light" rifle is my .338 win mag! Nice job, Friedrich and a great trophy!

I agree. I have guided hog hunts for a few months, and during that time I have used some of the weapons in my collection. But I don't think any of them have done a better job then my .338. I wish I had a trip planned sooner to AZ then next May, because I have plans to get my .458 Win Mag then unless a better deal shows up sooner.

And tomorrow I get to pickup my .58 cal Muzzleloader. Hopefully soon I will be able to try some 555gr bullets on a pig!

Who knows how difficult it would be to find muzzleloading stuff in Belgium. Waffles on the other hand

There're plenty of BP-rifles over here, but due to legislation the're only very few shooting ranges left where you get shoot them, and I've never got a decisive answer to the question wether it is legal to hunt with muzzleloaders or not.

Antwerp indeed is in Belgium, but we do most of our boarhunting in the Ardennes region near to the German and French borders.
