What are these things eating in a cotton patch? Maybe a little nut grass I guess. Either way we continue to wack these hogs in the knee high cotton. We put the TWS (thermal weapon sight) to the test in some corn as well. I wanted to yell "you are 30 yards deep in the corn and I still see you" LOL This boar was one of the thickest I have ever see. Those are some well fed hogs. Good job on removing them. The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends. I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it. | |||

THere in there after the grubs and such that live in around the roots and such. We hit them in the cotton at my friends place quite a bit, as does the cotton farmer. Those 3'deep holes they root wreak havok on his sprayer and picker. That's a thick one for sure. Seen a few similar, but not sure if they were that big. We do have a couple though that look awfully similar to black bears coming through the brush. WE're guessing them to be close to 400, and hopefully if we can get them in range we'll find out for sure. They don't come out in the open, but rather keep to the thick bottoms. My friend and I both had close encounters with them while bow hunting but never seen them with a gun in hand. I meant to get back by the booth last weekend at the show but got tied up with other things and got away before remembering. Looked like you all have some some great equipment. We hunting some of the same general area up there between Crockett and Madisonville. Great country for hogs and big deer. Mike / Tx | |||

Me thinks there is a good campfire tale behind this one!!! And here is a pic of a "thick one" from my former lease--and, that may be a healed up bullet hole high in the shoulder--but could have been from jeffe or Mike D. Who knows?  An old pilot, not a bold pilot, aka "the pig murdering fool" | |||
