Well I am just trying a "new" system of feeder to avoid climbing trees up and down with those heavy corn sacks !!

I built an structure to put inside a plastic drum with the feeder. I painted the blue drum with brown, green and black to make it less visible. The feeder this way is low and easy to reffil from the truck. Let see if pigs don't fear it.

The camera is up in an eucalypthus tree. It's a reconyx RC60.

Not anymore nighthunting for a while for me but I am investing for the future, maybe next full moon......

The place was FULL of scrapes in the trees !! It seems there are a bunch of axis working in that corner. thumb

Hi Jim !!!

How is everything up there ??
Here we have a big drought, a big problem for us, Mario's crops don't grow up and not many cows availabe for my embryos. If this was not enough the world wide financial crisis sent commodities prices to the floor..

So meanwhile we do what we do best...HUNT&FISH !!! Big Grin

The new boy will be arriving in any moment, I just hope that during daylight and not at night !!

And you ? how is everything in Texas ?

Take care

Lorenzo,
Sorry to report we are in a drouth here as well just 7 inches of rain this year. I had a bad fire 3 days ago that was started by the electric company. Burned about 15 acers & lost one of my storage buldings & all of the things in it Mad Also 200 yards of net fence. They have insurance but it will be a fight I am sure.No one was hurt so we are happy for that. Let me know when the baby comes clap Hope all goes well.

The wind moved the tree and the cam trigger took this picture, here you can see how the feeder looks like during day.

Well, I think that I must tell my wife that I must go to "visit the cattle" soon Big Grin

You noticed that it took near a month to the pigs to find it ?? This is because I don't put sour corn on it. I must put some more corn and sugar together !! it's a big difference when one sets a new feeder !!

But the other day when I went there to check the cams I put some home used oil, one that was used for frying some meat and potatoes. I put it on the base of the tree, it smells and doesn't wash so easy with rain.

Let's see their reaction to the home used oil Roll Eyes

If you can, put the corn in a drum, in that drum pour 2-5lbs of sugar, brown sugar is good, .. a packet of yeast.. brewing yeast is good, and 5 gallons of water.. let stand for at least a week
