While cleaning off my desk a couple days ago, I found a spare card for my wife's little digital camera. Popped it in the computer and saw 2 images of a hog.

I don't recall ever posting this one (might have, but when you shoot a few of them, they all start running together in your memory). Anyway, since the bullets in the carrier are the 7mm 120 grain TTSX and being that the scope is still the Burris FFII, I am guessing it was late last summer or sometimes this past fall.

Regardless, it's another piggie that met its fate at the hands of my 7mm Bullberry Contender carbine. Sorry...I don't recall any of the details of this piggie or the hunt.

Been getting lazy lately and haven't even taken pictures of the last few hogs I've taken, so I thought I'd at least upload this one.

Looking at the photo reminds me it's time to do a bit more hunting as I have visions of fresh, grilled pork tenderloins dancing in my head... Big Grin

I enjoy your dedication to your single shot. I'm sure the hogs in your neck o' the woods all whisper at night "beware the man with one gun"!

I've grown really comfortable with the single shots, and it's rare that I take out a bolt gun.

The accuracy of these guns can be downright amazing, and they are a pleasure to carry in the field.

The sheer number of hogs in the area often dictates the situation be more like ADC-type work than hunting, and sometimes a neighbor or friend will need help to save their crops, etc. Even in situations like that, I almost always reach for one of my utterly-reliable Contenders. And if it's something else I reach for, more than likely it will be an Encore... Big Grin

It's obviously accurate and you are obviously hell on wheels with it! Nice work, Bobby!

Bobby,
been missing your posts. Your gonna have to get off your lazy duff and go dust some more piggies so you'll have some more pix to post, or at least smack a couple of 'yotes.

GWB-

I hope to take your advice really soon. I have a couple major projects to try and finish, and then it's time to concentrate on popping some porkers and maybe a 'yote or two.

Because of my health and my schedule as well, I think I've only taken 4 hogs since February, and I hadn't even been bothering with pictures. Actually, I did intend to shoot a photo of one of the boars taken with my latest Encore barrel, but I wound up getting stung on the head, neck and arms by either hornets or yellow jackets (didn't stick around long enough to get a good look & identify them Big Grin). By the time I got some Benadryl in my system and alcohol on the stings, some heavy mist was falling, and I gave up on getting a picture.

I bought some corn and strawberry and raspberry jello the other day and plan to ferment up an irrestible concoction for the area porkers. By the end of the month, I hope to be feeding them some hot lead as well... Big Grin

Bobby,
best of Luck at the end of the month .. Last year I promised myself I would spend more time in the field .. and, dang it, I have been ... I didn't plan on it also time on a 4wheeler, though my wife and I have fallen in love with them and do.

chewing tabacco, or even wet cigerette backy helps the stings.. even scorpions.

I've been giving serious thought to a 4-wheeler as well. I used to think I'd hate them, but on the farm, they do have many uses. And being that on some days my mobility is severely restricted due to pain, a 4-wheeler may be just the ticket to more time out in the field.

Bobby,
I purchased the fuel injected polaris 500 HO on the advise of my hunting bud who has three and is owns his own auto mechanic shop. It has four wheel drive and auto trans. Didn't think I would like the auto trans, but I love it. You might even check out models with power steering. I love mine. I have two other lease trucks that are four wheel drive that almost never get driven theses days. I can load two hundred and fifty lbs of corn on it. When heading out for a hunt I carry my knapsack, my ditty bag, folding stool, ground blind, loppers, ratchet straps etc. Can go almost anywhere with it. When it rains I just stap on a rifle case. I can't tell you how many times I've come up on animals with it such as hogs, turkey, deer fox and coons. For some reason it does not seem to scare them like a person walking. If your away from your buds and you nail a big hog you can use a strap to drag him out of the brush or even throw over a limb, haul him up, tie off the strap and back under him. Load a 300 lb animal by yourself. They are more expensive than a old four wheel drive truck. But I wouldn't be without one.
