... dead along Highway 180 between Bayard and Silver City yesterday. Poor little guys. They are fun to watch.

A year or so ago I attended a church service in Fort Davis, TX. All those old ladies could talk about was how the javelinas tear up their flower beds, non stop.

Another dead javelina on 180 near the first two. Hate to see the little guys get hit.

Lots of Javelina in Texas as many as whitetail deer. on the ranches Ive owned or leased you would see 10 to 100 per day driving the road or horse back. Lots of dead ones on So Texas roads.

They are indeed quite populous in certain areas, but they are nowhere near as many of them as there are whitetail. The latest estimates by biologists I saw had numbers of around 100,000 javelinas in Texas while there are 5.3 million whitetail.

That's strange as hell. I drove all over Texas for 5 years trucking in the early 70s. many times around big Bend too.
And Have never seen my first one, dead or alive.
Wonder why. Not saying anything other than that I never saw even one.
