Never under estimate the internet community's ability to reply to your post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence issue.

What I have learned on AR, since 2001:
1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken.
2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps.
3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges.
4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down.
5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine.
6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle.
7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions.
8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA.
9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not.
10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact.
11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores.
12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence.
13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

I know you just couldn't resist. HA

Seriously I pick on these little guys all the time because they are so tasty and will fit just right in my smoker.

It took some patientce to line the little rascals up just right, they wont be still for more than a half second.

Thats a 280 Rem I built, Banser High Tech stock, and a muzzle brake by yours truly. Weighs a little over 6 lbs with scope.

Nice Work. I've tried that unsuccessfully before and I'll agree, the trifecta is not easy.

I've pulled a couple doubles before, but never a triple. Those will be some good eatin', that's for sure!

I too have gotten two for one, but three is a real accomplishment and one for the record books, IMHO!!

A shotgun and #2-#3 Buck make triples somewhat common when you get a covey rise....

I just had a prospective client call asking me what bullets he should use for pigs. He was rather confused as one of my competitors had just told him never to use Nosler Partitions OR Trophy Bonded bullets. In this "professional's" opinion, neither one of them where any good. (?????!!!!!!????) Confused

I guess it's hard to catch some of these guys when they're sober.

Hopefully I got the client straightened out, telling him that any of the premium bullets would be more than adequate. THINK PLACEMENT!

Along the same lines at the original thread: I killed two good sized pigs with one (300gr.) Sierra but but I wouldn't recommend it. We've had many clients take two pigs with one shot... never on purpose though. Wink (Some people have trouble with the instruction, "Wait until the pig in the back clears" BLAM!)

Yep these little guys are small all right but so tasty. Grilled all the ribs amd some back strap. A little bit of macaroni salad, red beans and lots of Coors and Lone Star to wash it down. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

My .280 will group 140 Nosler Partitions and Ballistic Tips to the same point of aim, and under one inch. I carry Ballistic Tips in the chamber for whitetails and Partitions in my pocket to swap out when I see hogs. I have gotten doubles more than once but this is my first triple. Hard to believe but bullet placement was perfect on the first two and only a couple inches off on the third. Sort of like making a hole in one in golf.

Those are cute little piglets, but I got more with my one than your 3. I got a Christmas eve present when I slipped up on this 155 pound feral sow this afternoon while checking my trail cameras. I shot it with my Blaser Offroad 270 cal using Win. Supreme 140 gr Accubonds. She never knew what hit her.

Way to go Jeff, looks like good sausage to me.

I'm sure it's been said before but hogs add another dimension to just plain old deer hunting. And the big boars, heck that's a poor man's grizzly!
