This is probably my 2nd biggest boar. Could not sleep last night and was up with pain, so I kept peeking out the window into the moonlight hoping to see maybe a piggie or 2 show up. Well, eventually this one did. I took him with a quartering shot from 110 yards using nothing but the moonlight and my 7mm Bullberry shooting a 140 grain lead-tipped Nosler Solid Base at 2451 fps MV. Bullet performance was perfect, taking out the edge of the liver and the lungs before breaking through the opposite side shoulder bone. I hope to have the recovered bullet later on.

Bobby, that is an outstanding hog! Congrats. I was hunting in the moonlight Saturday for a boar that was coming regular to the feeder around 8pm. Sure enough about 7:15 my bladder could not hold any more. I stepped out and went 4 steps and heard the "GRUNT"! There he was 50 yards away! We all know the rest of the story. Best regards and Merry Christmas to you and your family. RandyB.

Randy-I sympathize. Mother Nature calls at the most inopportune times. I hope you'll get that hog soon!

Thanks, everyone. Above is one other view of today's hog. Looking back, this is actually #4 in my top 5. Below is #3:

This is #2:

And my #1 (for reference I am 5’11” and weighed 192 back then):

Bobby:
Good to see you're still getting around and doing the hogs in. I get concerned when you don't post for a long spell, knowing your health isn't very good.

Man, that rifle sure looks like a kids popgun alongside that hog.
Thanks for sharing, wish you and the family a great Merry Christmas and some fresh pigs too.

Bobby -- It's not fair to use a short rifle in the picture to make your hog look bigger! Wink

Congrats on a big one. Those old Nosler Solid Base bullets were just about the finest "conventional" bullets ever made. I've got a supply for several rifles and am hunting this season with a 7mm/150 out of a .280 Rem.
