Federal Feral Hog Stamp in Texas????????

WTF?! WTF?!!!

I was just informed about some kind of Federal stamp for hunting Feral Hogs!! WHAT THE #$#$$#%^@^%$#%@#$%^$^&^&??!!! I feel the same way that Jeffe does. I am not paying the feds any fees for hunting a critter that is not migratory like waterfowl. I guess the feds have realized the potential $$ in feral hogs and are now trying to tap into it.

Anyone with info and an explanation of this malarchy please respond.

Andy

Bob - you old dog!

Andy told me about this .. I thought about it for a second, might have swore a time or two, and explained that there would be no jurisdiction (law district is what that means, btw) or rationale for the feds to tax a purely intrastate function

This prank was started about 5 years ago by a friend of mine who was a Game Warden here in Texas. Another friend of ours was coming out from California to hunt hogs with us. Steve, the GW, met him in at the airport in his official "Green Truck" with all the pretty red and blue lights. On the way to the motel he asked our bud if he wanted to stop on the way and pick up his Federal Hog Stamp at the Post Office. He got him all the way to the Post Office before he cracked up and started laughing and came clean. A few folks have been initiated each year since then.

Sounds like something I should have pulled on jeffe's buddy Mike (from Kalifornia) when they came to my place to shoot hogs!

The real kicker here is that the first thing I said looking in Doug's eyes was "BULLSHIT"

To make matters worse I had a chat with my friends in the Texas Parks and Wildlife office on Bear Lane in Corpus Christi today. They were very interested in the name of the administrator of the Texas Predator Posse that was involved in distributing said information. Oh and Shooter.....I don't blame Bob entirely, I also informed my TP&W buddies about the guy I first heard this from.

I expected this kind of tomfoolery from Don and Saeed and perhaps even Walter but my friends in Texas.............Who needs enemiesSmiler

Now if those guys -- Bob in particular -- are not actively engaged in some sort of Tom Foolery, you'd better get them to the doctor 'cause they must be ill... Big Grin

Think how easy it would be to find a place to hunt hogs if landowners were taxed for every feral hog on their place. Course TPWD would have to have some mythical way of counting them.
