Leica Geovid vs. Swarovski SLC's optical quality???

I am about to take the plunge and trade in my Swarovski 10x42 SLC's towards the Leica Geovids also in 10x42.

Range-finder aside, how would you compare the optical qaulity of each binocular? My Swarovskis are crystal clear, and the Leicas seem to be as well, but I only looked through them in the store.

I am hoping for some imput from any of you who have experience with each pair.

Thanks!

Wolfgar, I own them both and the difference isn't detectable to me. I thought the Leica's were better for a couple of minutes one day at the range when comparing them side by side, but then I remembered my Swaro's had just been afield with me, I brushed of the objective lenses, and then I couldn't tell a difference any more.

Love that built in laser though--it is the shiznit!

Update:

Sent off e-mail to request status yesterday and received this:

We did receive your binoculars. The repair order number is XXXXXX. Unfortunately, the turn around time on these is 3 to 4 months. The scheduled repair date is mid March.

Now that sucks! Brand new this year, something minor wrong and it takes this long.

Thanks for the reply's fellas! That does suck, having the range finder shit the bed....that is one of the pit falls of technology! But when you range you target in 2 seconds, they will be worth it.

Any more reveiw's out there??

You should compare the Leicas with the Swaro EL! That´s by far in my opinion the best scope from Swaro...

life is too short for not having the best equipment You could buy...

I checked with the technicians and they said they would have the repair complete by December 14th.

Now that's better. A positive response to a complaint about repair time. thumb
