Got the 375 for both DG and for elk and bear hunting. Am looking at lowere powered scopes although a 2.7 or 2.5-8 might be an option. But aside from FOV differences what about cross hair clarity in dark areas and eye relief differences?
Also any expeirience with the rain gaurd coating of the 4200s? Thanks in advance.

The 4200's are great scopes but for a medium to heavy kicker i would definitely get a leupold it has plenty of eye relief one thing the 4200 is a little short on, and for the money the 2-7 can't be beat if your trying to keep cost down, to me the vx-II version looks a lot like the old 2.5-8 vari-x.jj

I had a VXIII 1.75-6 on my .416; I had problems with the scope twice. Put a 2-7 3200 Elite and been very happy. Took that rifle to TZ last September; it killed 3 buffalo.

I was told the 3200 and 4200 are tested on a 375 H&H. I use a Tasco Titian 1.25 X 5 on my 458 Lott and love it. YES TASCO.

Not exactly what you asked for, but I have a Carl Zeiss Conquest 3-9x42 mounted on my .375 ... its reticle is just what I like & need, thin enough for long distance shots aswell as thick as needed for those night or low light shots ... needless to say its optics and mechanics are superb .... perhaps you might consider it also

A hunting partner has a B&L 4200 1.5-6 that went bad on him before last deer season. His experience with Bushnell was less than favorable. The first thing I remembered about his scope when he got it several years ago was that it was like looking down a tube. Horrible sight picture, eye box and eye relief. No comparison to a Leupold VX-III 1.75-6 for an optical rifle sighting instrument. I have a Leupold VX-II 2-7x33mm on my .375H&H and love it.

I've experienced some of the same probles that Jackfish described with a Bushnell 2-7x32. I could not mount it to where it had a good sight picture and eye relief. Does not compare to 2-7x32 Leupold. I have the Leupolds on a 7mm mag and a 375 with complete satisfaction.

I probably would recommend the Leupold due to the longer eye relief. With 3.3" on the Bushnell, that would be a little short for me on a gun like that.
