been dinkering with rifles for 65 years and this stumped me. ArmSports 4x32 scope looks very normal until you look at the cross hairs compared to the turrets. that's when you see that the crosshairs are exactly 45* off forming a perfect x in the scope. don't know if the guy who put the crosshairs in was inexperienced or it was his last day before quitting. the odd thing is the scope still works, you can adjust the crosshairs. it does freak people out when you hand it to them to shoot the rifle. ![]() | ||

I take it your scope has image-movement, where the reticle should always appear centred. If it is not new, as the compact fixed power suggests, it is possible I suppose that recoil has turned it around over time. Recoil can pull a rifle to one side as well as back and up, which might just cause the erector tube to rotate. Why would it stop at exactly 45 degrees? Well, maybe there are detents around one end or the other of the tube, causing the turret screws or gimbal mechanism to grab there. | |||
