Was wondering what are your experiences with the new Redfield scopes?

I have 3 originals, but currently Leupold is making them. That's about all I can tell you.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

I've got a 3-9x40 but have yet to use it. It seems quite solidly made but I have no idea how they are made in the USA for the price. I would compare them to the Leupold Vx-I and VX-II.

For a truck rifle or a scope for a beginner it would be perfect and the warranty is hard to walk away from.

I emailed Redfield as to the scopes recoil tolerance and this is their reply:

John,
There is no recoil limit for this scope. All Leupold scopes including the new Redfields are designed and rigorously tested to take repeated, multi-directional recoil from all calibers including and not limited to air rifle, shotgun, handgun, muzzle loader, and big bore center fire rifles. You can use that scope on your gun with full confidence. Feel free to contact me if you have further questions or concerns.

Thank you,
Micah Crabdree

I have a CZ .416 Rigby coming soon. Time to test the scope and warranty then ?

I did speak to Leupold on their Rings and Bases for heavy recoiling rifles. They suggested QR's or double dove tails in lieu of traditional rear bases with windage adjustments.

Have a 3x9 Plex no issuies with it yet. I had an Accu Range in the same took it back as I really didn't need it,never mounted it.I liked both better than the Burris Fullfield 2 I compared them 2. On par with the the older Redfields in clarity.

Best deal for the $ IMO

Just wish they offered Widefields.

Have a Great Day and God Bless

Any particular reason you kept the plex over the accurange? or was it just because you hadn't used the one?

A month ago a gentleman at the Cabela's forum offered the most useful opinion/comparison I have heard to date about the Redfield Revolution.

I contacted redfield/leupold about putting a redfield scope on a 458 lott or 416 rigby and if it would hold up to the recoil. They told me to go with the leupold vx-3, it would hold up better for recoil then the redfield would so I'm going with a zeiss.

The Redfield scopes appear to be nearly identical to the Leupold Rifleman series.
