I have several quality scopes that are old, but in excellent working condition except for worn coatings. Anyone know how I may remove the coatings with a solvent? Thanks.

Those coatings are typically cleaned with acetone, isopropyl alcohol and ammonia solutions.
The result is the coatings can only be cleaned but cannot be removed with solutions or solvents.

Depends on coating. Mgf can be soften with methnol. If it has a SiO2 over coat for protection cannot remove it.
