Just looking for thoughts on the new Leupold rangefinders and if they are comparible to the higher end names like Leica and such? I had a Leica 800 and found it good but not great at picking up on most targets but I have wondered if there are any out there that would do any better. Would a rangefinder like a leupold 1500yarder be any better?

The Leica 1200 and the SWARO are the best, IMO.

The new Leupold is a wee-bit technical for me as I like the simplicity of point and push the button, but it does have some really nice features like its small size, inclinometer, and multiple reticle styles at the push of a button.

Be aware that all of the listed maximum ranges on all laser range finders are for highly reflective targets...which does not include animals, unless they happen to be wearing a road workers vest! Smiler

The Leica’s and Swaro’s come pretty damned close to their advertised ranges though.
