Have quite a bit of Swarovski glass, rifle scopes, spotting scope and binoculars....absolutely wonderful product. Recently my 10X42 SLC binocs went bad.....one side went totally blank, looked like it was full of moisture. Sent them in for repairs and found out the housing was cracked which lost the nitrogen filling. Service department says they were bent backwards or dropped in order to cause the housing to fracture like that. I don't recall anything like that happening, but I do hunt some harsh climates and these aren't used for bird watching. Service Center says they are not covered under warranty, however they have seen this problem before on other units. Going to cost $150 plus shipping....(can't buy a $2000 pair of binocs for that price), so I told them to proceed with the fix. Grateful I don't have to fork out new price for another pair, but disappointed in their lifetime warranty. Anyone else had service issues with Swarovski?

Sent my 22 year old pair of 8 x 30 SLC's back for an "update". inspection, cleaning, and new caps. Two weeks later I had a brand new pair in my mail box free of charge. They also serviced an illuminator on a scope I bought used. They knew I bought it used but still repaired it for free also. I'll stick with anything Swarovski. ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

Have had only one dealing with Swaroski warranty service and it was OUTSTANDING. Sent a 20 year old scope to them that had been messed with by a PH in Nab. Parts could be heard rolling around inside the tube. Talked to their customer service rep. awoman. Said sent it to us and we will give you a prognosis. Had to be sent back to the factory with a lag time of up to 16 weeks. Got it back in 8 weeks total rebuild NO CHARGE, that is service . I was reaDY TO DEEP SIX THE SCOPE. Yackman

I have had 3 experiences. Years ago when they entered the market they offered only poro prism binocs and were 1/2 the price of Leica or Zeiss. I bought a pair of 10 X 40WA's (I could not afford the other brands; mid 80's I believe). I dropped those on a mountain in BC and knocked one barrel out of allignment. They fixed them pronto. I was never to fond of the view as they were pretty fuzzy around the edges. I returned them once again to see if they could address the issue. At that time they had come out with the SLC (roof prisms) about 6 months prior. They offered me an upgrade for $100.00. I thought what a deal and took it. The SLC's were a better viewing binoc. I accidently lost my footing on a Elk hunt and busted my rear. Somehow I had another pair of Swar with a barrel out of allignment. Sent them back, they fixed them and "upgraded them". I gave these to my son who is still using them. Great customer service and really nice binocs however I lost some faith in their durability. I have a pair of 8 X 32 Leica Trinovids that have taken 5 times the abuse. Maybe just my luck with the Swar. I will say I hunt in tough, rough places (used to-getting older now) and my gear takes a beating. EZ

After 12 yrs of hard use my 10x42 ELs had the split rings on my shoulder harness wear through one of the attachment points (other was not far behind). Sent them in and they came back like new, polished/cleaned lenses, new twist-up cups, and many other parts replaced all free of charge other than shipping to them. I asked for a rush ahead of last fall's hunting season and I believe they were back in 6-7 weeks. I was very pleased and use Swarovski for my binos and spotting scopes!! I hunt to live and live to hunt!
