I shot my 300 win yesterday and today( quite well actually) but this a.m. I noticed some "stuff" moving around on the inside of lens of my Sightron 4.5 X 14 Mil Dot scope. This same thing happened prior to a hunt last year. Sightron warranted it but it leaves a little doubt that it going to screw up at the wrong time. I am thinking of sending it in and putting it on a lighter recoiling rifle. Will a Conquest hold up to the recoil of my 300 win? I love the glass on the Conquest"s. What do youi guys think? Thanks

Chain- You should definately try out a Conquest on your .300 WinMag. I do not think you have anything to worry about with the scope messing up because of recoil.
Have you priced them yet or looked into which model you want to put on it?

I had a 3.5-10x Conquest give up the ghost on a Sako .300 WM. The second Conquest held up fine for several hundred rounds perfectly.
I said that to say this, all scopes can fail. No scope I know of is immune from having a failure, regardless of make or model.
What I think? Forget the Conquest and buy a Swarovski PV-N 3-12x50 and You have georgeous scope on Your gun and it will withstand more recoil than Your .300 WinMag could blast...
I love mine, having now one Zeiss Victory Diavari and 3 Swarovski PV-N and it is a big difference, so I would suggest the Swaro!!!
I can't find the 4.5 X 14 mil dot However I can get a 3.5 X 10 mil dot. I am currently using this as mainly a hunting rifle but I have been shooting milk jugs a ways out. I would think for hunting the 10X is adeqate but for targets , Am I going to want the 14X ? Thanks

I have three 4.5-14 Conquests, but mine are just Z plex. It is my favorite scope. In my opinion, the power is not really needed in hunting situations, but it is sure nice to have for precision target shooting.
His prices are usually very competitive and he has sales that smoke everyone, for instance just bought 2 1.5x5.5 Conquests from him for $350 each.

You might also check with Jon at www.theopticzone.com His prices are also very competitive and I just checked and apparently he has the scope you're looking for.

Thanks I am having trouble finding the Mil Dot with the power I want? I called Camera Land they don't have one, I call the optic zone and Jon and Tammi don't have one? I am trying to balance either get this one from optic planet or get one either 3.5 X 10 mil dot or if I want the 14X to get the 4.5 X 14 #4 I am calling Optics Planet now just to talk to them. I don't have much time, I need to get hunting.

If neither Doug nor Jon has it then check SWFA.com as Switchback suggested or bearbasin.com
Doug and Jon are frequent contributors to this forum and get a lot of business from us here because of that. But if they don't have it, they don't have it.

Yea I know I was hoping to buy from Doug or Jon. I have to go out of town for a week so I guess I will wait. No one will be home for the brown truck anyway
