Bought a new pair of Leica HD+ 10X42's binocs this fall.
Was amazed at how close I could pan up to the rising / falling sun and still maintain a good visual on the landscape.
Using my rifle scopes (Leupold VX3 or Swar) all I get is a big bright glow in the field not allowing the view I could achieve with the binocs.
I could easily see deer with the new Leica that I was unable to via my rifle scopes.
I always have accepted this as just an envelope situation where you cannot take advantage of a shot opportunity.
Does anyone have experience with a specific brand of rifle scope that will allow you to shoot a couple of degrees off a sunrise / sunset scenario?
Personally wish I could be allowed to test some units in this situation.
The Leica HD+ binocs are a knockout!
BTW: I have not spoken with any Mfg that does not scratch their head when asked this question…
Would be a fantastic selling point!
I know a sunshade would help but there are drawbacks with those.
Really interested on how the scope manages the glare.
Would not be asking the question if I did not see it being achievable with the binocs.
Real world experience is appreciated.

The Leupold Lumina filters help if you can find one in Amber, but I use a shade if I feel I am going to have a real issue. I have never had the shade cost me a shot.
