a bit ago i wrote of the problem i was having to get a S&B scope repaired. The scope is an old telescope, but with the finest optics I've ever had. anyway the front lens fell out. I sent it to the US service station, who sent it back to Europe. Now i get a note back that it will cost $425.00 to glue the front lens back in. So much for lifetime warranties.

i would remember them about their lifetime warranty and that other companies - say Swarovski for example - are known to repair something like this free of charge...

and when buying a optic next time, i would know which brand not to take...

All of my S&B's have 30 year warranties. If the scope was manufactured over 30 years ago it may cost you.
