I did the online Visa in May. Didn’t get an email so I went through the normal arrival interview. Halfway through the immigration officer asked why I was in line since I’d applied online. She could see my visa application but they never sent me anything.

Very possibly what I'll experience as well as I still don't have an email with the visa. Doesn't seem like a big deal but was just wondering what other's experiences with it are. Seems to be a system with a few bugs to work out still.
So is it advised to do the new "online" visa or go the old route and wait in line to get your visa? We are heading to Zim in November and I've looked at the online route but just wasn't sure if its any easier.
If you want to avoid chaos at arrival get the visa in advance. I didn't bother and was sent back to an area where you have to use your phone to photo the app then down load it and fill in all your details. You have to get through a crowd of confused Chinese all trying and failing to do this. I was helped by a friendly Zimbabwean policeman (excuse the oxymoron) but it still took 20 minutes.

I applied online on September 19th and received confirmation of payment immediately. However, no follow up or visa approval notification. This morning, I logged onto the site and my approved visa was available for printing. There is a QR code on the visa. I will also have that on my phone when I enter Zimbabwe.

Thanks David! That's the exact info I was looking for.
I applied and paid a couple of weeks ago but like you, never received the follow up email with the visa.
I signed on to my account after your post and found my visa also approved and ready to print.
Much appreciated.
So it appears you have to sign back in a few days after application and payment in order to obtain the actual Visa.
