I drove back from LAX with 65x57 pounds of creamy goodness dragging down my tailgate.

Not too bad, considering the hunt was 5 months ago.

Here is how I last remember them

My ele was shot with Acacia Safaris, Sengwe 2 area of Zimbabwe, this past March. Again, kudos to Bruce Rensburg for running a great camp. Special thanks to PH Kobus Van Der Merve for leading the successful hunt, huge thanks to Taxidermy Enterprises of Bulawayo for staying on top of the paperwork AND packing this precious cargo properly. And again, a very big thank you to Maria Felix, custom broker extraordinaire for orchestrating a seamless shipment.

And now for next year....

A beautiful pair of tusks... always a relief to get them home!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Men,

Yes, very good to get them home. Took a dedicated team to make it happen. I wanted to name the players, as they all did an outstanding job.

Thick indeed. 19.5" of roundness. Me thinks we go back and look for that suspected 80 pounder seen somewhere in the vicinity... Unless one of you makes it there first. In that case, best of luck to you!

Yep, the anticipation of getting the tusks and the fear of a fubar with USFWS or other govt entity. It dosnt matter if it is here o on the other side of the pond. Nice ivory by the way. It took me 2 years to get my stuff stateside this time. Tusks are at the taxidermists but will be on the the way soon.
