As of November 30th, 2013, I stepped down as chairman of the ZPHGA and handed the ropes over to a very capable Louis Muller.

I would like to personally apologize to you for having to post on AR in 2012 on behalf of Stu and the members during my run as chairman and would like to acknowledge that you have done all you could in this unfortunate accident in helping Stu out financially.
I am led to believe that funds raised by yourself and others may possibly be used for litigation against you which I find distasteful to say the least especially after what you have done and are continually doing.

Please accept my humblest apologies Tim if my post on AR caused undue negative opinion towards yourself.

Cheers

Martin

You were anti Tim from almost the start.

Tell me where to send #48 or maybe Roland can direct ship it to you instead of me. You sound like a good man. Sh!t happens.

I have been in personal contact with Tim and I assure you that he has agonized over this to the extreme. He has done every thing possible to help Stu including offering to fly him over for free medical care. Also Mr. Shores lovely lady Mary Lynn had offered the services of the world recognized Jewitt Orthopedics. Both were refused.

I really feel bad for all involved. I hope the best for both Tim and Stu.

There but for the grace of God could go any of us.

Wow, I for one will look at this as a real learning experience. I was fast to jump to Stu's defense at the expense of Tim's intentions.

I guess wisdom comes through experience and making some mistakes.

Well done Martin, I stand corrected.

Great post Martin. tu2 I find it more than repugnant that the monies that have been raised to help Stu Taylor would, in any way, be used by him to fuel litigation against Tim. That is one of the lowest blows that I have ever heard of. thumbdown

I've considered Tim to be a personal friend ever since we did a mule deer show together in AZ a few years ago. I found him during the hunt to be honest, straight forward and a really great guy to share a camp with. He never exhibited any "It's all about me" behavior that you might expect from a TV personality.

I've been in touch with Tim off and on throughout this whole mess with Stu so I knew he was doing whatever he could to help Stu and I would of expected nothing less of him. Considering that, I've always felt Tim got a really raw deal from a lot of the members here on AR. It now is so nice to see that some of Tim's critics are coming to the realization that perhaps they saw the whole situation incorrectly and jumped to the wrong conclusions. Those folks have my admiration.

My guess is that some of the worst, like 505 gibbs, not to name any names, will be slow to add their apologies. There is a certain amount of humility and grace that comes in being big enough to apologize; afraid I suspect there will be a long list of rationalizations from some regarding why no apology is either necessary or appropriate.

Just Maybe,
we should not pile on Stu for this until we know it is true.
A lot of members condemned Tim H for his actions, without all the facts.

Maybe we can all learn from this??

It took a lot of courage from Tim to show the episode on television, and I must say, that episode was extremely shocking to say the very least, even for hardened hunters including myself. Secondly, being a lawyer for over 31 years, I have seen a lot of shenanigans pulled by clients, opposing parties and counsel. However, in all of my litigation and business practice, I have never come across a situation like this, where money being raised to help someone physically recover was being used to fuel litigation in an undercover fashion. And, I certainly do not agree with the statements that have been made by some on AR that once the money is raised and given to the individual that they are free to use it how they wish. The money raised for Stu Taylor was raised for a good faith purpose-and it was certainly not raised in any way, shape or form, to specifically give Stu Taylor a so-called war chest to sue Tim Herald. Appalling, disgusting and reprehensible! thumbdown thumbdown thumbdown barf thumbdown thumbdown thumbdown

Vaughn you know I respect/like you brother...we see a lot of things alike and enjoy some of the finer things shared by this forum.

It isn't all in what it seemed by my email from Tim and John Jackson III/Conservation Force.

Tim/CF have emailed me their version and why they have chosen to terminate...today, have formed my own opinion to the contrary by corresponding in-depth with Stu Taylor himself...Two-sides to every story...we heard Tim's...I will post Tim's email direct to me as well as John's/Conservation Force...then I will let Stu tell his side of the story...that way everyone ca judge for themselves! Sorry to say this but this is beginning to have the feel of a pilot for a reality TV show.

Regardless of who says what at this point the veracity will be questionable.

The one thing I have control over is what I will ever be willing to do in the future as far as lending someone a hand and I will certainly do my due diligence before that ever happens again.

AsI have said before"But for the grace of GOD go I \ you." This has been a terrible situation for all involved, with bodies and reputations both taking hard blows. I admire Martin for his words, it takes a good man to back track on his stance. I know Tim pretty well, and know he has suffered, and worked hard to lessen Stu's suffering as best he can. I hope Stu is not turning Tim's, and AR members donations against Tim, that just would not seem right. I do hope the best for both men moving forward.

Dear Vaughn I must amend my statement about posting Tim's or CF's emails because I was contacted by Tim this morning and I do NOT have his permission to post, neither did I ask John Jackson III/Conservation Force for their permission.

My only reason for desiring to post at first was to show why the LION PRINT BENEFIT was terminated.

I agreed with both gentlemen as well as Saeed in a PM that termination was best and rightfully so because we did not do any of this to fund a court-action lawsuit against Tim Herald.

My motive and pure intentions of allowing Stu Taylor to share his story that I believe many donors have the right to have and decide for themselves if they would like....is what is Stu doing with the money raised and if in fact is he using it to fund a court-action suit against Tim Herald....no more and no less.

So I will now only post what Stu wants to share...and everyone who is interested can read it for themselves...and choose to make their own decisions.

Thanks brother!

Roland

Although your " apology to Tim Herald " is one year late , it really shows that you are a humble person and therefore a man with great character .
IMO your apology should have been done on the 1st of December 2012 when Tim Herald informed us about the email received from Stu regarding the help that he was receiving from him.
One year of undue negative opinions is a bit too long ! - anyhow i am glad you stepped down from ZPHGA otherwise these negative opinions could have last a few more years...
Better later than never , so i congratulate you for your position.

Aloha Roland,

I know you as a kind and giving person and I say the following with sincerity:

Why is it that you believe you need to reply for Stu? He is completely capable of posting replies for himself - something he has chosen not to do so far. I urge you to disengage from this mess and allow the principals to respond, or not, as they see fit. Nothing good can come from you on Lanai trying to speak for someone in Zimbabwe. Your involvement in this incident, as with most here on AR, was ex post facto.

On a happier note, I received a wonderful Christmas present, from Beau, of your services on a photo of my choosing from my safari albums. I will contact you directly in this regard.

Mele Kalikimaka, my Brother,

Mike
