There is some fine plains game hunting availabe in RSA, but I think that nearly everything is better in Namibia. You might want to look there, also.

Gentleman Jack--Give Marius VanDeventer at Africa Bushveld Safaris a look. I've been to the Eastern Cape with him twice, and have had really good success and experiences with him both times. He is a top flight professional in every respect and has an outstanding set up on a 50 square mile concession. He has all the species you want, and will tailor the hunt to your requirements. His prices are very reasonable, to boot. I'm not an agent, just a very satisfied client Check him out at www.africabushvelssafaris.com

Jack, Take your pic from these packages I offer or I can customize one for you. I have hunted this area numberous times; know the folks very well, have plenty of references and we take very high end trophies off this ranch in particular because we practice strict game management. Jack, I can second SharpsGuys recommendations for Marius VanDeVenter. I did my first safari there and had a good hunt. Note I think the Web site was misspelled, try this link: Africa Bushveld Safaris Paul "Diligentia - Vis - Celeritas" NRA Benefactor Member Member DRSS

I agree with Stonecreek. I have hunted the East Cape S.A. for plains game and I have hunted Namibia, the Kalihari and the Khomes Hoekland for plains game. Namibia is better, I think. The costs are lower in Namibia And I think there is more game. The hunting is easier in Namibia than the East Cape. For me this is important since I'm 67 and not in the best shape. Look at Kalihari Hunting Safaris. They will put together just about any package at a good price. I'm going with them for the third time in April. One of the hunts I will be on is a 5 day management hunt,26 animals, 6 Gemsbuck, 18 Springbuck and 2 steenbuck for $5000. You can split it with another hunter. That includes your daily fees for the five days. I usually add Kudu, Zebra, Blesbuck and Warthog for $2500 plus 6 days daily fees @ $300/day.......Tom SCI lifer NRA Patron DRSS DSC

I must agree with Tapper2 that Namibia is a good hunting destination. South Africa can be very different, but also good. I cannot accept the general statement that: "The costs are lower in Namibia...." It is perfectly true that the trophy fees for kudu, gemsbuck and red (Cape) hartebeest are substantially lower in Namibia than the same species in South Africa. The differences in Daily Rate costs between the two possible destinations are negligible and can for all practical purposes be ignored. However there is a whole long list of species for which the trophy fees charged in South Africa are significantly lower than those charged in Namibia. These include all of the species (except kudu) listed by Gentleman Jack as sought after. In fact, I have compared the costs for an 8 days hunt for the species listed by Gentleman Jack is most likely to cost between $ 615 to $ 697 MORE in Namibia than in South Africa! Gentleman Jack, I've sent you a PM about this.
