Funny you mentioned this now.
I do get offers from a few generous individuals who want to help pay for the running of AR.

Since the last five years, I have been sending this money to various conservation projects in Africa which I think can use this money most effectively in their efforts for conservation.

Two of the notable animals which we have supported so far are research and anti-poaching efforts on lions and rhinos.

Last year we paid $15k to lion conservation and $20k rhino conservation.

This year we collected $50k for rhino conservation in Kenya.

Bravo! That makes me to wonder about how much the armchair anti-hunting people contribute to conservation.

I'd much rather see conservation "win" than one of us...

and kudos and a hearty well done to Saeed!

Well, it kind of depends on which one "us" is the winner! Wink

Obviously, thank you for hosting the platform that allows those that give to feel comfortable the money donated actually gets to the areas of need.

Bravo!!

Gentlemn,

Apart from paying to J Jackson for lion conservation, all our donations go directly to organization in Africa where I have personally seen where it will be of most benefit.

Excellent manner of dispersing the funds and making sure the monies are going where needed most. Thank You for all your efforts with that project.

Saeed,

Would you mind telling us how you chose a project in an obviously anti hunting country for the donation?

I am wondering, as there are plenty of outfits in hunting countries that are trying to do the same thing, and you have made the point yourself that hunting is really the animals only chance for long term viability.

Certainly, you don't owe me (or anyone else for that matter) an explanation, but I would like to see how a conservation outfit in Kenya is going to do much of anything given the sorry state of wildlife there.

Since you have been on the ground there, they obviously impressed you; how?

I have been doing a free hunt for AR for the past 5 years, and last year the winners (who had a honest good excuse) cancelled about three months before the hunt.

To be honest, we have drawn about 6 names every year to get someone that will take the prize, and everyone have some excuse that they cannot take the prize for some or other reason.

Why they enter in the first place, realy baffles my mind.
