This may be old news to some but Dawie Groenwald of Out of Africa is in trouble again, this time in Botswana. Seems he is 50% owner in a company called Ethic Conservation Services. The company has failed to pay 880,250 Pula to the Development Trust of NG 49. All trophies have been seized until payment. Very similar to the Zimbabwe issue. Full report in The Hunting Report March issue. I cannot understand why anyone would even think of hunting with this outfit.

I hear that if the court order to seize all trophies is not worked out soon----by way of Out of Africa paying the owed money:

then after April 6, the cities animal trophies will not be allowed to export

one of the persons rummored to be affected by this is Kevin Anderson!! Yes, Out of Africa's own attorney might loose his Elephant Trophy!! Big Grin

for those that don't know;
Kevin is Out of Africa's lawyer, SCI's legal counsel, has been a member of the Ethic's committee(may still be), and current SCI Vice President (Sci has multiple Vices Presidents)

What? A moral dressing down from cats/wynnwood/Reverend Terrence Murphy who posted someone else's archery hunting pictures claiming them to be his own? And claimed he was a full time Alaskan guide even though he works full time at a Pennsylvania middle school? How humorous.

here is some more info for the mud slinging:

At the Reno Convention, the SCI Ethic's committee was told of the Botswana seized trophies do to OAAS bouncing check payment and was asked to not allow or pressure OAAS to stop selling hunts in Botswana during the convention---especially following the much publicized complaints with the Zimbabwe hunts they have sold.

SCI's response I was told was " it isn't sufficient to stop them from selling the Botswana hunts"

I personally was't there during the discussions, but was at the convention and heard of the seizers while on the convention floor.

say what you what but SCI so far has taken no action against OAAS to my knowledge and god knows they have heard whole shitpile of complaints

Pick up any newspaper and tell me that what you read is exactly what happened in any report. You know no better than I what is truely going on. If you were a member of SCI you would know that quickshot would have to be also if he attended the Convention like he stated.

Are you a member? Under the name of Terrence Lee Murphy. Big Grin

Yes I am a member of SCI --and for that matter--a donating one!
And HELL YES I am involved-- and yes I think I know a thing or two what is going on between OoAAS and SCI--

I notice defenders always attack the messenger--never seem to be able to argue with facts-- Where are my facts inaccurate? before you throw mud at the messenger, shouldn't you at least find some fault with the message?????? killpc

As a member of SCI I have the right to comdem their poor behavior! That doesn't mean I condem SCI as a whole---if you would bother to read any of my other posts on SCI issues, you would see that I have stated several times that SCI is a great organization and yes, it does a lot of good. That said, it has some serious issues--namely, some of its dealings (and lack of dealings) with questionable outfitters/safari companies.

Pointing out serious problems --is not taking some "lofty" position..

SCI needs to clean up it's act before OoAAS and their like drag them (us members) down into a political nightmare--

example, what if a major news organization decided to do a hit piece on the SCI? they could easily turn the OoAAS relationship with SCI into a firestorm of bad publicity" I can see the horrifying headlines now " SCI uses safari companies to prey on their membership-- defrauding tens of thousands of dollars from unsupecting members" or some crap like that.

SCI needs some criticism for its own good --so get over it--lay of the dope long enough to get fresh breath of air

So those that say I am not involved --I AM!!! ARE YOU!!!! And What are you doing to get the SCI to clean up their act???? Let's put a beer on it---if you've done more I buy--If I have--then you buy! Big Grin
no --I am not 500grains but I would like to own a few of his doubles--I don't make as much coin as I think he does Wink

I'd be interested to hear the answer to that question regarding the fake pictures.

Cats, you need to realize that until you post some bona fides, your credibility is zero. And before you start with the usual insults, please go back and read the last shot you gave me and explain it as it made no sense to me.jorge

Cats- After checking your meds, kindly do some research on the entire history of SCI, going back to it's founding moments with Mac and the gang. There has been alot written and perhaps some fellow members could steer you in the right direction for these sources. Bottom line- The OVERIDING theme has always been about ego and greed. Please take off you rose colored glasses and do some research. And by the way, I am a member. Bob Butler.

Cats: That's a great excuse not to post pictures, but I'm reasonable. How about the name of an outfitter and PH and where and when you hunted and an explanation for the FAKE pictures for starters.
As to the ego, guilty as charged, but my "ego problems" pale wrt your credibility problems. And what does "over grade" mean anyway? jorge

Hey I got it, how about the VIN number of you HUMMER? Cats, if I'm wrong I'll be the first one to apologize, and to be honest, I'm fed up with your BS. You are a fake. Prove me otherwise so we can all move on. jorge

Sure "Otji" Just like we waited for your pictures over on the other forum before you magically stopped posting after you couldn't produce. SO what if you go shooting with Mike. What does that prove that you own a rifle?

Why don't you explain the FAKE PICTURES and the fact you can't back up ONE fact out of all the lies, you've permeated on this forum?

How are things in Bath nowadays, it must be tough getting your Hummer serviced over there, let alone fitting into that garage of yours. Don't you have any pride man! Realize you are a LAUGHING STOCK here. jorge

Please send me a PM with the VIN number and pictures of your Hummer I'd like to do a title search and damage history on it before considering making an offer.

Don't forget his "Charles McWilliams" troll identity as well.

Of course he has now created a new alias for himself seeing this one ("cats") is close to self-destruct.

At last count he has booked hunts (from posts) in something like six different African countries in 2006. Roll Eyes

Personally I think he is a bird-watcher and not a hunter or shooter at all.
