You all may have seen this video already, but it is Go Daddy's Bob Parsons on a Pac elephant hunt that has PETA upset.

http://www.video.me/ViewVideo....?ci=23830&vid=380843

The spot light comes on and shot immediately follows at 1 minute 49 seconds. I had to replay several times to see what happened to the bull. Am still not sure if it went down w head shot or the one running away got second barrel. Maybe you guys know the rest of the story?

My cow elephant in 2005 was disposed of in a much more organized and dignified fashion than the free for all that follows the next morning when the elephant is butchered.

Bob is quick on the trigger of his double I will say that.

More power to him.
He was interviewed by one of the gossip shows and he did not back down.
I will support him and Go Daddy.

Will, are all PAC hunts like this?

I thought he kind of downplayed the part about, "we walked for an hour in the dark towards the sounds of the elephants."

And then they were charged by 3 bulls!

In the dark.

Night time PAC hunts are fun, I was able to shoot one at night in a cornfield next to a school. When the light went on he kinda froze making the shot easier.

I do not think a PAC hunt has to be at night but offen is to catch the ones that come to the village at night.

On my first trip, a local Chief called my outfitter and they negoiated a $3K price for a rougue cow.....if I knew then what I know now, I would have jumped at opportunity!
Had an other opportunity a few years later when the adjacent tribal group called for help. The two appy's went but I declined becuase we were still involved in getting my Lion. Glad we did, a game scout trainee opened up on them with an AK and all hell broke lose....Appy's refused to go back! Night hunt.
Oh, and own the butchering for meat, the only time I observed this, the Local Head Man maintained order allowing only a few at a time and designating who was next.

Careful boys, don't use the word PAC hunt. You'll have the AR Police on you in no time. This is a legal management hunt...by crop raiding Elephants.
Cheers,
LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
