Plains game in Zimbabwe

Hi all,

In 2010 my father and I hunted buffalo in Sijarira in Zim. We liked Zim a lot. We would like to go back for plainsgame.

I'm looking for advice on Safari outfitters operating in Zim for plainsgame. We are looking to hunt in a more open area than Sijarira, possibly southern Zim. we want to see a lot of game and don't want to feel like we are under pressure to take the first thing to come along.

We would like to hunt: Kudu, Zebra, Eland, Impala, warthog, wildebeast, bushbuck, hyena, baboons.

I would appreciate it if you all could give me some recommendations on some outfitters to go with. Resident outfitters here on AR are welcome to chime in too.

Save with Shangaan Hunters - was there back in 06 - along with PG you listed you will be hunting among all B5.

Lemco safari area would be a good option. NOTE; it is behind high wire BUT it is a big area.

Another vote for Lemco, was there in 2005 when HHK was running safaris there. Great camps, food and abundant game. Good luck on your search and hunt.

My wifes boss has been to Lemco a couple of times and two of my friends went with Shangaan last year. I don't think you can go wrong at either place.

I'll give another thumbs up for Shangaan Hunters. I hunted there last year and all the animals you listed are abundant and excellent quality, with exceptions of Bushbuck and Warthog, which had been under fire from the huge leopard and lion populations.

Here's a report from my hunt:

I have to recommend Save Valley - Sango (Zambezi Hunters). I saw everything while I was there over the last 2 weeks. Impala by the hundreds, zebra, countless wildebeest and warthogs, giraffe, kudu, waterbuck, bushbuck, bushpig, duiker, klipspringer.....

I honestly couldn't believe the number and quality of the plains game.

I've been to both the Save and the Lemco area for plains game in the past 4 years. You can search for my hunt reports here on AR. Both hunts were super!!

Another vote for Lemco/Bubye Conservancy. Contact John Sharp PH and he will do the rest in a most professional manner. Be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Yes, the perimeter of the Conservancy is fenced surrounding the inside hundreds of thousands of acres! Fair chase? My answer is yes, but YMMV!
