Agree - I hope someone with relationship to these organizations discuss the idea with them. We should promote " some electronic place out there " with science statements/reports, blog articles like the Duckworths have made here, Dapu etc etc... This discussion has started in Norway as we see that the greenies etc are working on the EU with regard to stop the hobby/sport of shooting, hunting, reloading etc etc. We are now approaching our National Hunting Organization to come forward on behalf of all members. The National Hunting Organization in addition to the National Shooting Association is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, member organization in Norway. Great post. It is a shame that there is not an economical way to get those traps over to the US. I can envision those traps bringing a couple of hundred dollars a piece and that money could go back to help fund the anti poaching program. I could see direct sales through sportsman/conservation groups, National Trappers Association, State trappers associations, auctions, raffles etc.. | |||

Outstanding effort by the Duckworths. SCI and DSC need to spread this message and the work of other PH's to more mainstream media. Neil, This is a great conservation story and I'm proud of you guys for all your efforts and for taking the time to write this up. There just isn't enough out there to celebrate the successes due to big game hunting. It also makes me anxious to return when I can. Maybe I can make it work next year when I have time. Neil, A great job to say the least but posting it here is preaching to the choir. If there was only a way to get such messages out to the masses and those who don't know and don't realize what hunters do for conservation! I strongly feel that a new organization needs to be created by hunters without "hunting" in the forefront to educate people, raise funds and spread the word, etc. It will also help attract a younger group of people over to our side than being swayed over to the other side by antis who spread BS. I had the pleasure of hunting coutada 9 in oct 2015. I cannot say enough to the quality and quantity of game in the area. Furthermore, meeting three generations of Duckworths, along with their staff, proved that they take conservation personally. I truly hope that this effort is sustainable, as it has the potential to be a case study for the continent. Great job! | |||
