Those of you who intend visiting our part of the world and are dreaming of bright blue winter skies and sharp sunlight, ummm, well, wish pretty darn hard! 'Cause right now, it's bleak. We have endured continuous strong cold winds for a month and a half now and some heavy rain a short while ago, bringing rivers down in flood.
Slightly after 06:00 this morning, all hell broke lose. Well it sounded like it. Wind, hail and buckets of rain. At home, a little over 60mm in just over an hour. Eeker

A subway fairly close to my home.

The bowling greens at Cambridge Sports Club not too far from my home. Water polo anyone.

Downstairs at the Vincent Park Mall. The white stuff is hail.

Hail and floodwater at the mall.

Hail at one of the entrances to the mall. The rubbish is a sign of two maladies afflicting us at the moment. A general population who dump their trash where ever and a muncipality which cares not for its responsibilities.

A big old Wild Fig tree blown over. The end of a giant.
It must be this Global Warming thing? ? ?
I was supposed to have left this morning to spend a few days looking for a bushbuck to bring home. CRYBABY
Maybe Thursday or Friday. Cool

It was one hell of a storm.....my usual 20 minute ride to town this morning took an hour and a half.

We had no hail on the farm, but damage to the dam wall continues as it overflows !!!

From drought to flood, you guys have been through it lately. I hope the water recedes rapidly. Good luck on the Bushbuck!

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

And the forecast for tomorrow is.... wait... more rain and gale force winds.
Steve, I have made several enquiries, but it appears that a lot of shops have started stocking their summer ranges. Cool

The fire should warm things up a bit. Big Grin Right now there is a howling gale driving a freezing almost sleet like rain. Shite, is it cold. Want to put the heater on, but with the massive increases in power tarrifs, I am a bit loth to.

David, I have several chances coming up in the next few weeks, so hopefully Dinah smiles my way. Cool Cool
