While it is good to have a lot of discussion on any topic we must always remember not to fight among ourselves. This is exactly what the antis and the animal rights whackos are hoping for. If a hunter is competent with a bow they should be allowed to use it. I don't see the point but that is my opinion and I can't make everyone see it my way. If I could we sure wouldn't have the liberals in charge of our government. This is a better fight right now if you want to be able to hunt by any method in the future. we must hang together now or we will surely hang separately. Does this sound familiar? It better because it exemplifies our fight to maintain our rights to hunt or to even own a gun.

Obama and his liberal buddies really are out to get all of us.

I started shooting guns when I was old enough to walk. My mother and father took us shooting quite regularly all our young lives. I very much enjoy shooting to this day. But there came a time in my early twenties when it became a bit blase' shooting deer with a rifle.Deer steps out, raise rifle, shoot, and the work begins. So we looked for ways to up the ante.

Long range shooting is one such option. It adds a new element of challenge to the hunt.Trophy hunting for only the biggest racked bucks is another option. Bow hunting was still another way to ramp up the excitement level. To be successful with a bow one has to master the tool (bow) and also be skilled enough at hunting to get within the limited range of this weapon. For me, getting eyeball to eyeball with my quarry is the ultimate hunting high.

So for many of us bowhunters, hunting with a bow was just a normal evolution that we drifted into when we sought a greater challenge.

If killing an elephant with a rifle is one's ultimate goal, then that person does not need to consider trying to kill one with a bow.

I have taken one elephant ( before anyone asks about my experience level) with a rifle. The country I hunted in (Namibia) does not allow DG hunting with a bow. I would not have traded that experience for anything. But if I get another chance to hunt elephant I would love to do it with my bow. That would be the only way in which I could improve on the experience.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!
