Has anyone hunted with either of these companies before? If so what are your thoughts on them for a buffalo, crocodile, and plains game hunt? Thanks

I hunted with Swanepoel in 2001 and wasn't very happy with that hunt. Part of the blame goes to the booking agent I used, Russell Seele.

I would never book with Swanepoel again. The accomodations were great, but my PH had me shoot a soft boss buffalo (didn't even look at him from the front). He said it was wide. Wrong - not even 35 inches. On the sixth day we saw a huge buff and chased him for about 1/2 day, but I think my PH got tired of the drill and had me shoot a so-so buff.

I hunt with lots of outfits all over africa - adams outfit in TZ is great , go to the selous for some excellent buff hunting and early season for the croc ...season starts july 1 his camp is right on the river , very "real" africa , tents with en-suite facilities ..very scenic and lots of attention to detail , good food and service - lots of buffalo and all manner of other game in the area aswell ...his block in the selous is LU5

while you are there you must also take advantage of the excellent hippo opportunity ...

Aussie,

We offer 147,000 acres in LU5 that will all be yours and yours alone for the duration of your hunt. You'll love it. Give me a call anytime to talk about it.

Yeah "aussie" you won't go wrong with Adam Clements. I hunted in a few blocks in Tanz in 2004 that have since been taken over by him. The entire areas have been managed much better than when I was there and they were great areas when I hunted them!

I've wanted to get back to his Tanzania Bundu Safari block for half a decade. Sent some friends of mine his way, and they killed out on a big bag safari, with about four days to spare.

He consistently harvests 45-plus inch buffaloes and a tremendous genetics line of lions every year. That's called proper management and selectivity.

I haven't hunted with the other gentleman you mentioned so I can't comment on him.

Regarding safaribwana.com only!

I would not Hunt with anyone who is offering me species that are protected in the country and / or make incorrect statements about the area he "hunts" on his website!

But that is just me!

They certainly do have a great Websight.
Apart from the Roan issue. Whats the story with their alleged hunting areas?

In 2007 I spoke several times to to Peter "safaribwana" Swanepoel. I was also talking to Adam Clements about Tanzania.

I was suppose to meet Peter at SCI at his father's booth. He never showed. I also had a hunt report on Zambia at the time and the area he was hunting was not a prime area.

I ended up booking with Adam and hunted LU5 in the Selous. it was the perfect first hunt.

I hunted LU 5 in 2006, the first year after Adam took it over. I had a great hunt. No complaints. Adam was a great guy to deal with.

I hunted in Selous LU-5 with Adam in '03 before he managed the block and in Lolkisale in '06 with Bundu and Adam. They both are great experiences and each have something unique to offer. My wife and I still talk about the sunsets over the camp fire at LU-5 and the view from Lolkisale camp is a picture out of National Geographic. The trophies are wonderful too. Talk to Adam and he is a straight shooter about what they offer. Mark Young's offer to talk to you is solid also.
