I'd like AR to have a forum to discuss which TV Hunting Shows has the most desirable and effective TRUE hunting features. This should include location, animals, hunters, guns, calibers, hunting guides, ranges of game taken, all equipment used( rifle name, scope used, sling, bullet used, powder used, brass and primer - if reloading was used--,spotting scope,Outfitters, and measurement of game taken.

Members should have a vote on which hunting show is the best as shown on TV and why!

Bow & pistol hunting shows should also be included!

At DSC 2013 I was walking down an isle and looked up and here comes Shockey. I ask him "are these Texans around here treating you alright'? 15 minutes later we were still visiting. Very nice guy from my perspective. He also has by far the best hunting shows on TV, and it's not even close IMO.

Just saw Jim Shockey hunting moose in Sweden and eating Surstrømning (rotten fish). He hated the taste, but ate it with a smile. I like his shows and he seem like a genuin hunter and personSmiler

The shows from Nepal had to be some of the best ever. Some of the Pakistan footage is nothing short of amazing . I enjoy The Professionals show as much as any other show on an overall basis.

The show from Nepal is outright scary. On a mountain with a local sherpa guide that broke his foot due to slipping/breaking rock. The show might very well have been a final video record of a lot of peoples lives - Jim, the filming crew, the guide.

I met Shockey Dec 31st in the Houston Airport. I had talked previously with him at shows. Told Him I was taking my 82 year old pop and son hunting and loved his shows with his dad. That caused him to beam.

Love his shows.

His writings in Big Game Adventures 20 yrs or so ago made me a fan. Always enjoyed his sense of humor and related to his perspective in those articles. Nothing has happened since to change my opinion. I definitely agree that his shows are the best on TV.

I have really enjoyed the few opportunities I have had to meet him in person at the shows. Bumped into him at a Starbucks and he made my wife and instant fan. lol.

From what I have seen at the shows, he is the closest thing the hunting industry has to a rock star!

I'm not sure I've ever seen his show but I follow his daughter on facebook. She's beautiful.
