Unfortunately, No. I'm just here for work. Going home Friday night.

Looking forward to the report and photos mate.

Remembered my passport (both of them) got in last night. Met Jerry and Becky on the plane.

Met Jim and Joyce at breakfast this morning. Funny, I've never spoken so much to people I've never met before, I felt like we'd met prior.

They're all off on a city tour, my fishing partner and I are just hangin out, thinning our gear for the float plane into the bush tomorrow.

First group in for the year. Should be good fun.

Making me jealous Steve. You will all have a wonderful time and a bunch of laughs. Jim & Joyce are high up in my top ten.

When you doing the next group fish?

Hi Andrew,

I've always believed these things are as much fun as you make them. Positive people simply make all that easier.

As far as group trips. I come here a lot. I am going again January 18th, that one is sold out. Next is Septermber 24, 2018. 4 spots open. Again, I DO NOT TAKE the free trip offered me for filling up. I ammortise it and spread the cheer.

It may sound weird to you but I get the same rush hooking up on 200-300# Piraiba as I do being close to Buffalo.

Regards,

Steve

I'll answer for Jim. Acute Angling made the decision, this year to change to a new hotel. It's called the Bristol. Just across from the airport. If you've been here you'll remember that mad dash across Manaus to and from the charter terminal. It was like a half hour.

It's also only 4 months old and check in was literally less than one minute rather than the one plus hour at the Tropical.

Bummer ! But I guess that's what it takes to make the moolah for the next hunting trip. Hope it's going well. Cheers.

Thanks Steve,

The last time I was in Manaus was about 2001 when they were building the new tower at Tropical. It was out of the way, out there on the river away from the airport and the city. It's probably changed a lot since I've been there.

Get a duplicate Passport and a Passport card. One in your carry-on, one on your person. Just remember which one has your visa.

Get a duplicate Passport

I never realized this was possible unless one has dual or more citizenship; maybe a certified copy but not a second passport.

Yes, you can get 2-3 duplicate passports. It's very common. For example, you may need one to travel to Israel and then to Saudi...as you can't get into Saudi with an Israeli stamp in your book.

You could need several if you were applying for visas that took a long time...say you wanted an Indian visa. Your book could sit at the Indian Embassy for months. During that time, you need to travel...thus justification for a duplicate book.

It's not unusual. You just have to justify it. The duplicates usually have shorter expiration dates though.

Very interesting. I never knew about this. My first priority is fixing my GlobalEntry. My name has a suffix and it is not reflected, therefore GE doesn't work for Precheck, but it does for reentry. It's fun trying to call and talk to someone at CBP.

I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills.
