There are unpleasant things in hunting that we as hunters must endure. The last thing I would do, would be to compile a video of the most disgusting, heart wrenching, disappointing moments of a safari and putting it all together in one video. Halal, religion and customs aside, this is the most disgusting safari video I have ever seen.

That literally made me sick to my stomach. Then pissed off!! Talk about cruelty!!

OK - I worked out how to do it. If you open the video in Youtube itself - if you look just under the 'hit' counter you will see a little flag. Click on the flag - Report > Violent or Abusive Content > Animal Abuse ... leave comment. I will endeavor to get someone to capture this video before it is taken down. I have no idea how to do that!! That disgrace made me sick to my stomach. Let's be careful to be "tolerant" of the world's most intolerant religion. Take a look at that video again and think about what's going on in the world today. It should be thought of as a foreboding message to the civilized world.

Guys, I agree with everyone on all levels here! Look, customs/cultures are what they are I suppose. But that is all together different than putting this shit on YouTube for all to see. Not to mention that shooting from a vehicle in TZ is illegal, and the chasing of the wildebeest part with the truck, PATHETIC. Not only was I hoping the wildebeest would exact a little revenge, but these clowns need what I like to call a GOOD OLE FASHIONED ASS-KICKING!!!! And yes, I would gladly give each and everyone of them one - if given half a chance. So tell me, do all of you MS haters still think he's the worst thing ever seen in the hunting industry/biz???

I started out thinking that their taxidermist is going to be really ticked, but by the end of the video I was just rooting for the animals. I love hunting all the way down to the part where I shoot and kill the animal, but in no way would I ever wish an animal I shot to die like that wildebeest did. ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris

Done. First time in my life I have left a comment on a YouTube video. I understand halal. Ruark even wrote about it in his books, but I really don't need to see it on Youtube.

That has to be the most annoying fucking music I've ever had to endure. Those guys' taxidermist must hate getting in safaris from them! Joking aside, these clowns' behavior whilst on safari are abhorrent.

The halal is not the issue. I too left a comment on youtube, my first ever: Q: "What is the issue?" A: "Violent or repulsive content." Specify: "Animal Abuse." Above were selected from the drop-downs. I added this little comment: Animal cruelty and unethical hunting: I am a hunter and love hunting, but this video depicting laughter and frivolity during the prolonged tormenting of dying animals is absolutely unacceptable.

Muslims are not supposed to eat any animal unless it has been slaughtered properly. That the throat is cut in such a way to speed up the death of the animal. In hunting, there are those who will not eat any animal that has not been slaughtered - even if it was dead when you get to it. They will insist on cutting the throat. Others believe the animal should be killed as quickly as possible, by any means, even a bullet. Some Muslims will not eat an animal that is shot in the head. That is their religious choice. There are a lot of strange customs in hunting, in which I have no wish to participate. Like eating part of the animal raw. Like painting your face with the animal's blood. Like sticking a dead branch in the animal's mouth, and many more. I have not watched the video mentioned above, but I can guess what is on it. The strange part is I cannot understand some of comments made regarding this. Do you know how many animals are killed in this way every day for the food chain? What about other religious customs like Kosher meat? Reporting this to youtube is going to come back and bite us all in the butt. Who is to decide what others can and cannot post on youtube? There is a PH who has an abhorrent way of hunting as far as I am concerned. He has his videos on youtube. I object to his methods, but I did not go to youtube to complain. I hope no one misunderstand what I am saying. I have my way of hunting, many of you have seen this. I have seen so many so called "hunting" videos on youtube that are so revolting. In fact, I suspect just like Anton has mentioned. That they are far worse than what is shown above.

I dont think it is the halal involvement in the hunting (in this video or elsewhere) but rather the intentional cruelty and stupidity that the people involved in this video displayed. They are just a bunch of disrespectful jerks documenting their stupidity. Saeed, Thanks for your answer, I agree with you, many different cultures, and many different thoughts. I hope this YOU TUBE BS, is not going to prevent my grand children, or yours, from doing something, that I have done, since I was a little boy, my God that would be sad.. Butch

Saeed, You should watch the video and then comment. It is ridiculous to comment, hypothetically, without watching the video.

I watched the video. It is utterly disgusting. And so are many others on youtube. And so many I hear about from PH in the field.

Better yet, let's turn em loose with SureStrike for about 10 minutes. Talk about an ass-kicking that they'll never forget!!!! FOLKS - I spent 18 days in Zim in June, and another 10 days in Pakistan in December with a practicing muslim, who's also an AR member, and a guy I now consider a friend. He and his guys in Pakistan obviously have muslim customs as it pertains to game, etc - some of which I personally witnessed. But none of it was done with such disregard, or disrespect for the animal, or hunting in general, as was this video - and these clowns who partake in such activities in the name of "culture/religious" beliefs. I am certain he too would find these activities pathetic!!!!

disgusting!. this has nothing to do with religious observance and everything to do with animal cruelty( listen to the shouting and laughter during the wildebeast sequence). on my only Tz safari, 1 of the trackers was Muslim. on each animal i shot(4), he quickly ran up and stuck the animal in the throat once with a pocket knife. they were obviously dead although 3 of the 4 were still quivering a bit. this is the most pathetic example i have seen of animal cruelty in a long time. There are a few outfitters and PH operating in Tanzania who do this sort of thing and worse. They shoot buffalo from the back of the truck. They wound lions and tell the client he has missed so they don't have to follow a wounded lion. Some of these unsavory characters have been discussed here on several occasions.
|
One of Us |
It's a sad commentary that what has been discussed has occured and been accepted, apparantly, in some cases. Hard to believe actually. I too, would like to know the PH's and companies involved, although I'm sure I haven't hunted with them, or considered hunting with them. If I had, I would change my mind. Halal is one thing; this was something else.

This is clearly poaching and nothing to do with Halal or the muslim religion. The are this hunt took place is Mto wa mbu, No one shoots Gerenuk and Laser kudu on resident permits.the camp is a photo safari camp and most of the poaching arabs stay at this lodge. Someone should report this to the WD in Tanzania.

Absolutely barbaric and nothing whatsoever to do with proper sport trophy hunting and one also has to wonder why TF anyone would put such a thing on you Tube? Such behaviour and incidentally putting such things on You tube will be the death of hunting!

Barbra is a slovenian woman that lives/owns Ol Mesera Tented Camp. "Ol Mesera is situated at a unique, quiet location, centrally located with respect to numerous points of interest. This enables you to take several day excursions from the camp, which is much more relaxing than hustling from one place to another. Our Camp is near many of the famous destinations in ‘the Northern Circuit’. Lake Manyara National Park is practically on our doorstep, just across the road in Mto wa Mbu. Ngorongoro crater is about 65 kilometers away. Tarangire National Park is also some 65 km away. Engaruka Village with its ruins of long lost Maasai civilization and cave paintings is 35 km away. 65km beyond Engaruka is the active volcano, Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Holy Mountain of the Maasai God ‘Ngai’. Nearby the volcano is Lake Natron a breeding place for lesser flamingo’s, you can see flocks of thousands. Engaruka and Lake Natron have an extraordinary beauty, very dry and rocky, like a landscape on the moon. We’re on a 2 hours drive distance from Arusha. (120 km). We are close to the road connecting Mto wa Mbu - Engaruka - Ol Doinyo Lengai - Lake Natron. The nearest village is Selela, which is 12 km north of us, while Mto wa Mbu village is 14 km to the south. There you’ll find the daily market, shops, banks, medical services and internet facilities. To arrive at the Camp drive from Arusha to the outskirts of Mto wa Mbu. Before the road bends turn right to Engaruka road (Natron Rd) for 14 km, until you see our signboard “Ol Mesera Tented Camp”. Turn left and drive for 1.3 km and voila, you're just in time for a memorable experience in Tanzania. Coordinates -3.272301 , 35.943784. For more details click on the MAP.
