Great looking mounts Jerry. Pedestal is very nice. How did you get the human so natural looking? Just kidding Big Grin LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

So that's what you've been up to!

Very nice.

I have heard horror stories about the cost of just bringing a hide back -- guess I need to think that one through one day.

It looks ok, I guess, but the eyes do not seem to be "real looking" and the smile seems to be a bit fake. Also the hair on the mustache seems to have completely slipped.

The Giraffe looks outstanding though! Makes me wish I had skinned mine for a pedastal mount instead of a rug.

Very nice work Jerry.

Question and it may seem foolish but where is Terry? I have not been very active for a while and might have missed something. His posts are always something to learn from. I met him in TZ in 2002. Hope all is well.

Have I missed something?

Looks great Jerry!

I cannot wait till I get my cape back for my bull. I'm doing a ped mount on mine as well. I'm gonna do a similar mount to the one that Roy Holdridge did back in '03 with his bull if you are familiar with the mount I'm talking about. It was probably the most striking peice of taxidermy I've ever seen in person!! It made me want to go a hunt a giraffe bull. So I guess in a round about way, I have Roy to blame for all of these expensive dipping, shipping, tanning, and form costs!!

Great looking mount.

I caped mine quite a bit higher (so it will be a "neck" mount i suppose). Anyone have pictures of one mounted in such a way? I was thinking like a chess piece (the rook, not the pawn).

Thanks,

John
